It all started few months back before we came to know about it from the television. Yes, I am talking about the COVID-19 pandemic. It took us sometime to get ourselves be prepared mentally as well as physically for this pandemic. The world has, for long, not witnessed something like this. No medicine, no vaccine to fight against this deadly virus…..the only weapon we have is to stay locked up inside our homes.
This prolonged lockdown has weakened us mentally and as each day goes by, the feeling of frustration and anxiety is on the rise. We want to go out and enjoy spending time with our friends but all we have with us is an unknown fear of the future creeping in our mind slowly.
Sitting and lamenting over our current situation will not help us much and we need to buckle up to come out victorious of this current situation of despair and desperation. We have to come out victorious for ourselves and for our society.

To beat the lockdown blues, here are certain things which we can do.

  • ·         First and foremost, you need to hold on to the positive outlook towards life. Remember “EVERY CLOUD HAS A SILVER LINING.
Six Daily Questions to Ask Yourself in Quarantine
Check upon yourself by asking questions!
  • ·         Try repeating positive affirmations to yourself as much as possible. Remind yourself that, “COME WHAT MAY, I WILL FACE IT AND WILL COME OUT STRONGER.
  • ·         Try not to lament much about what’s happening around. As human beings we all feel sad about the losses that are happening worldwide. Start believing that a bright future awaits for the society once all this over.
  • ·         Limit viewing television. No need to see news 24*7. Give yourself breaks as they are much needed.
  • ·          Try meditating daily.
  • ·         Listen to music of your preference.
  • ·         Maintain a normal schedule – like 8 hours of work and then leisure time for yourself.
  • ·         Eat healthy and most importantly eat on time.
  • ·         Do whatever makes you happy in your leisure time….be it reading your favourite genre of story books or listening to your favourite genre of music or watching some old favourite movies or simply playing your favourite video game… this is important because your diet is not only what you eat but also what you read, listen to or do in your leisure time!
  • ·         Quarantine is giving you the golden opportunity to spend time with your family.
