A Student’s Wellness Tips for Staying Indoors! - Atri Das (Psychology Major Student)

We all realise, these are the times of difficulties faced not only by you, but the entire planet to be precise! To comment on the current situation I would use statistics and state that the total number of people affected with corona virus (COVID - 19) currently are 12,76,302 worldwide.

Due to this pandemic, several countries all over the world have locked down their respective nations. The Government have strictly asked all citizens to practice social distancing and self-isolation to break the chain effect. The easier these words are to pronounce the more difficult it is to perform them. We in this generation are stiffly attached to the external world than the internal world, hence this sudden shift or change may induce feelings of

Hence instead of looking at the glass half empty, I’m going to make you look at it as half full.

Here are the three most relevant strengths of staying indoors:

CONNECT WITH YOURSELF -

Probably the best time you’ll ever get to have that long due conversation with yourself. This is the time to face yourself, solve conflicts with your own self and come out of isolation as a self-actualized person. Connect and try understanding your desires and needs and discover your love for an activity. End all the toxic relations you have with people and substances and de-clutter your mind to explore your passion. Moreover, realize you yourself are the one whom you’re going to depend on in this lifetime and illuminate your soul through spirituality.

RECONNECT WITH THE PEOPLE WHOM YOU LIVE WITH -

You know, physically being in a place is pointless. Unless you are mentally present somewhere you can’t connect. Similarly, physically being present with your family won’t let you discover their happiness, sorrows, egos, shames or any sort of emotions. When was the last time you sat down with your families and conversed on a philosophical aspect? Yeah so go and make some tea for everyone and sit with them! You may also do group activities like cooking, reading, play board games, gardening and a lot more.

GIVE TIME TO YOUR PASSION -

In the daily life cycle, you always prefer to sleep rather than practicing your hobby or passion. Breakthrough that cycle and get to work! After all you have abundance of time and energy so use it productively. Read that book you have your eyes on for a long time, write that poem you’ve always wanted to, bake that cake, design that dress or just simply meditate and heal the scars people have left you with.

Staying at home is a boon, use it to be productive and let’s make the world a better place by healing ourselves individually.

Remember the glass is always half full!

STAY MOTIVATED! STAY INDOORS! STAY SAFE!
