Coming Out Of Quarantine - Atri Das (Psychology Major Student)

Feeling stuck at this moment is as normal as not having a sleep schedule. This global pandemic successfully altered our very existence and made us reflect limpidly on ourselves. But what happens when it all ends? When the roads are rammed again? When the pandemic of materialism and jealousy are born again? Imagining the ‘normal’ sounds hair-raising as well as salubrious. Amongst this mayhem using spatial intelligence to form mental images which are both jocular and exuberant is a perfect way to cope. When all this ends instead of getting confused and disoriented by change,
Here are the things you can do once this global pandemic ends -

1. CONTINUE TO KEEP IN TOUCH WITH PEOPLE WHO CARED DURING LOCK DOWN

Show your love and gratitude towards the people who cared to check back on you during the hard days! Filter relationships which are not worth it! Remember 'a friend in need is a friend indeed!

 2. VENTURE OUT BUT WITH CAUTION FOR SOME MORE TIME

Yes, hit that pub, grab some coffee or just quench your craving for spicy Chinese food with your mates. Reunite with your lovers and feel the romance! Have a get together with your relatives with some food and wine, and above all, be there, be present physically and make people feel safe and uplifted with your presence. Moving to intangible concepts, feel the wind, the sunlight, the moonlight and thank nature for just being present and accessible.

3. “THE ONLY PLACE SUCCESS COMES BEFORE WORK IS THE DICTIONARY”
(VIDAL SASSOON ) -

Hence quite evidently buckle up yourselves and put your heart and soul to it. A fresh start calls for twice the determination and hard work to reify your dreams. Complete the assignments, check the targets or even begin the long overdue project you had your eyes on. Make the optimum utilisation of resources which nests in you and take a step more to be productive.

4. DO NOT DISCONNECT WITH YOUR HOBBY
When a habit begins to cost money, its called a hobby. Do not withdraw yourself from doing or practising your hobby or passion just because you can rationalise it by the phrase “not having the time”. Withdrawing may lead to disconnection from yourself and you’re back to square one. Hence never sacrifice spending time with yourself among the process of progress. Remember, progress should be both overt and covert.

and lastly,

5. BE A MORE KIND AND ACTUALISED HUMAN -
As Dalai Lama said “Compassion is the radicalism of our time” , try affecting the fundamental nature of today’s plastic humanity by individual actualisation. Remember every drop matters just like you and your contribution towards humanity does. Try suppressing obnoxious emotions towards other people and be the mellowest version of yourself. Existing beyond the physical level is called transcendence and having peak experiences of transcendence is what Maslow emphasised.

Till then spend your quarantine fruitfully and productively with doing what you love and loving people near you as much as possible!
